Retired Special Ed Teacher :
I was so blessed to have the parents that I had. Both were union workers and poured all they had into me. I went to private schools in Los Angeles and at 12th grade graduation my parents got me a brand new Toyota Corolla. Parents paid for BA and graduate degrees. Also parents helped with purchasing my first home and also rental property. I’m now 62 and retiring next week as an educator debt free in Northern California. All of this was because of my parents James & Cheryl❤️who were married for 62 years until the death of my daddy in 2021.

I don’t blame her for feeling this way,but you don’t have to let that define you either.

I think the same way. I love them but I do have some resentment inside me, I don’t hate them. On the other hand I could never do that to a human being

She’s not saying she doesn’t want to work or that she’s not working. She didn’t say she had a degree or didn’t, because that’s not the point of the video. The point is that lots of people start off life & their adult life in the negative. Even with a good paying job it’s relatively difficult to stay above water and thrive financially. Some people can’t start their career and use their earnings correctly because they’re trying to catch up to being financially stable WHILE fighting inflation

I feel the bigger issue is the lack of financial literacy in homes I think setting your kids up for success financially and teaching financial literacy will go far cause it is not happening in the education system

Throughout history people have not afforded to have their family but that’s not how life usually works where everyone was stable financially or psychologically to bring in kids.

I think about this all the time! My father was a veteran and never used the resources it provided for his family, they never owned property and now he has nothing not even life insurance. It makes me so mad

Someone has to learn and break the generational curse. That’s what I’m doing for my kiddos!

The worst thing you can do to a child is to birth them into poverty. And to think Erika Kirk is telling white women to have more babies.

That's crazy. we're all mammals and no other mammal on the planet has cubs or young that are mad that they got born. They get here and they learn to survive. We used to be the same way. It's interesting that these last couple of generations have this belief that they should have been "asked to be born". That's not how science works and that's not how the continuation of a species works. I get that having money sets you up for success. But also there are people who weren't born into money who have created their own success and wealth as well. This life is what you make it and it is a gift. whether you asked for the gift or not.

1. seek therapy. 2. repeat #1 😳 you can plan and then the government can rob you blind, or heath problems occur. or remarried and inheritance goes to non biological siblings 🙄 what I referenced were real situations...😳

I used to think like that when I was a child. I didn't grow up poor. I grew up comfortably in a black working middle class family. I definitely used to tell my mom that I was born into the wrong family because I was supposed to be an uber wealthy heiress. This was because she would say to me, you have Dom Pèrignon taste with beer pockets. However, at some point you have to take control of your own destiny. For starters she's posting a video laying around in a robe and a bonnet. It's a mindset.
