put a safety pin in one end of the elastic so you have something solid to pull through

put a safety pin on one end of the elastic and use it to guide the elastic through. for smaller channels you can sometimes bunch all of the fabric of the channel onto the safety pin and pull it through all at once

I save all my thread and fluff and put it in stuffed things. presently ive been putting scraps in a pillow cover i don't want to buy a new pillow for. since youre doing more sewing maybe may yourself a pincusion and put your threads in the stuffing

Add a safety pin to the end of the elastic, makes it easier to pull through (applicable to anything being pulled through a channel) :)

When you are putting elastic through the channel, I like to put a safety pin on one end and then safety pin the other end to the fabric itself. Just makes it easier, and you won’t lose it in the channel.

My grandma and my aunt and my mama who all sewed one or another garment of clothing or whatever for any of us children would tell you put a safety pin on your elastic and guide the safety pin through the elastic sleeve. You got this my aunt and my grandma used to make dresses for me when I was little like little little somewhere in my mom’s home and I’m sure I’m gonna find it cause I have to pack everything up and move it to a new house in the next couple of months there is the Animaniacs dress I wore to kindergarten

I make the elastic slightly longer than needed, attach a magnet to one end slide the magnet into the hole and use another magnet on top of the fabric to pull it through

it's mostly prep for everybody lol. for the elastic you put a safety pin on the end and scrunch up the fabric on that so that you can get the elastic through much easier.

my mom always taught me to use a pen with a cap for elastic if the channel is big enough! i always struggle with safety pins so i put the elastic over the pen and put on the cap so it stays stuck to the pen and its super easy to pass through
