I'm fortunate that I was stationed there for a couple years. I was able to get almost all of the tourist spots checked off, and a couple extras. When I come back, I'm there for some comfort food items. Pylsur, Cafe Duus, and some Olsen Olsen

I keep hearing Reykjavík is not worth staying too long, but when I'll go back, I want to stay there for a while because I want to live the city, I want to see the museums, not a fast walk through in a couple of hours! I want to keep a slow pace and take it all in. And maybe plan another trip for the scenery all around the island.

Sooo true. We did probably easily 2 weeks worth of stuff in 8 days and it was fantastic obviously, but way too fast passed, too much driving and not enough actually enjoying each spot. The fact that flair air went bankrupt literally while we were there and I was on the phone trying to rebook our flights back while also trying to enjoy the sights also didn’t help 😅😅 dreaming of going back one day soon

Best recommendation, get a camper!! we spent 10 days and did the whole route. Because we had a camper we did things like at 10pm. its was perfect! Just a few people on the road and locations were we stopped. We git to just enjoy peace and quiet in nature.

Love this. This is my plan for my upcoming trip. We have lists and possibilities but we want to relax, spend time in nature… eat good food. I’ve been many times already but this will be my husband’s first time. 🥰

when I was in Iceland I sat at Ægissiðufoss for like 3h just taking it in. it was towards the end of my stay, it was sunny and warm - best lunch spot I had 🙂↕️
