The problem with your post is that you are not critiquing what you view as a problem within a community (throuples) but simply asserting that an entire community is problematic. Plenty of people have loving consensual relationships in a throuple. Plenty are bad and coercive. But guess what that’s the same fucking thing in monogamous heterosexual relationships. So yes when you come after polyamory super hard and demonize the entire community it’s often a very direct attack on queer people because they are largely the group that forms non traditional relationship structures. You don’t like the aesthetics of two women one man and you are trying to create a moral justification for your distaste

Being part of a big city's kink community you see a lot of poly dynamics and couples. I swear 90% of it is pressure, toxicity, insecurity and lack of boundaries. All while these people in very unhealthy relationships talk about the importance of consent, communication, the superiority/evolved nature of polyamory. Its actually a kinda funny to observe. I have seen only 1 poly coupling that seems healthy and happy, and tbh they are actually just swingers, deep relationships don't really seem to be part of the mix. Its just swinging with a few more dates

My girlfriend is polyamorous but we're currently in a monogamous relationship. I personally grew up considering myself monogamous just because that's the "normative" thing, but when she came out to me I did a lot of thinking and honestly I don't think I would care. I think most polycules are at least 4 people, but I do genuinely believe I'm secure enough that as long as she communicates who and why she wants another partner, I would be perfectly fine with it. That's just my anecdotal addition to the conversation after being confronted with the idea, so do with that what you will

thats what happened to me. it took such a toll on my mental health for him to go do whatever he wanted but I couldnt (while watching his kid btw).. there were other issues with our relationship but once I left I decided to poly ( and after a long break of being single ). I went back into being poly for me, myself and I. im so happy now. my advice for this is look up ethical polyamory, do self reflecting and see if its right for you. if anyone is pressuring you into this kind of situation, please leave. youre better off without them.
