I’m an NP with 7 years of injecting experience in both a med spa and with a plastic surgeon in an outpatient practice. I can say that med spas sometimes have some of the most experienced and knowledgeable injectors bc it’s what these providers do all day everyday, nothing else, they’ve essentially specialized in it —- BUT this of course isn’t true all of the time. Patients need to do a little research for sure.

Same thing with meds they prescribe, like GLPs and HRT! Majority of med spas don’t discuss all options, they just push compounded formulations bc that’s where they make all the money (and costs the patient much more as well). Always research where you’re going and who you’re seeing at these med spas!!!

There a dermatologist in my area that recommends them to only one med spa in my town. I’m guessing it’s probably a certified one but they only do things dermaplane, acne treatments, brightening treatment, I don’t think they do Botox.
