I understand why some people say love isn’t real. They’ve probably experienced betrayal, disappointment, or watched relationships fall apart. But I don’t think those experiences prove that love itself is fake. They only prove that people are imperfect.
Real love isn’t just butterflies, chemistry, or the excitement at the beginning. Those feelings come and go. Love is a choice to care, respect, sacrifice, and remain committed even when life isn’t easy. If love weren’t real, parents wouldn’t sacrifice everything for their children, friends wouldn’t stand by each other through difficult times, and countless couples wouldn’t remain faithful through decades of hardship.
The problem isn’t that love doesn’t exist; it’s that many people confuse attraction, obsession, convenience, or lust with love. When those fade, they assume love was never real. But genuine love is built over time through trust, honesty, forgiveness, and consistent actions—not just emotions.
Yes, heartbreak is real. Divorce is real. Betrayal is real. But none of those cancel out the existence of authentic love any more than fake money proves real money doesn’t exist.
Love is real. It’s just rare, difficult to maintain, and requires two people who are equally willing to choose each other every single day.
