In my perspective you are right but shouldn't be the criteria for recommendations. Professionally there are records to verify from and recommendations should always be professional and not personal.

This advice hit me at the wrong moment, Doc.😂😂 It seems like students don’t always realize how important it is to stay in touch with their lecturers (maybe it’s just shyness, laziness, or communication difficulties). It’s only after they’ve finished their degree and want to continue their education that they start to see the value. Lecturers do so much more than just teach; that’s something students often overlook. I’m a graduate now, and I’m planning to go back to school, but the fear of not getting a recommendation sometimes holds me back 😅😅 because I wasn’t really a favorite with my lecturers. You taught me was HCI, but I doubt you know me 😂, maybe you’ll recognize me when you see me in person. All this could have been avoided if I had known the importance of the “student-lecturer relationship” back in my undergraduate days.
