One time my grandmother planted a whole small garden and cabbages. Our intentions were to make sauerkraut with all of it. Well, it just so happens that I went to spend a month with that summer so I had never made sauerkraut, but she was going to teach me. I have never in my life made so much cabbage and sauerkraut and oh my God she had a small smokehouse and I don’t know where she got all these turns from but we had these huge terms that were over knee-high and we would harness those cabbages and filled those turns up and put them in smokehouse so they could ferment to make cabbage, and then before I left, we had to turn those turns of permanent cabbage, a.k.a. sauerkraut into jars so we had to scan them. I’m telling you I was so sick of seeing cabbage. It took me a while to even be able to eat coleslaw after that.

Tomatoes are perfect, which means they have male and female parts on each flower, which means they pollinate themselves. Whipping them, or just flicking the flowers will help ensure pollination. 🥰
