There are zero reasons a child needs a phone during the school day. If something changes, they use the school phone to call you. If something changes for you, you use the school phone to leave them a message. It truly grosses me out that people think otherwise. Let them be kids in a safe setting. Yes, schools can have unsafe moments, but I truly think the lack of phones will cut down on this.

What about our kids with diabetes that have an app on their phones to monitor their sugars and insulin.

My son’s school banned phones two years ago. He went from barely passing to a straight A student. Across the board, it was amazing. If I needed to tell him something, I emailed him.

My phone was my only entertainment and distraction when I ate alone every school lunch. I know there are kids who are doing the same thing I did, and I worry for them and every other kid who needs their phone

There is no help... as a former social worker and now trauma therapist I'm having trouble keeping my clients covered by insurance. I can't imagine what it's like in the field when it comes to the unhoused.

we grew up without cell phones and yes it is a different world but I think school officials should be responsible for the safety of the students while at school should be a safe place.

no phones during school is great. if a kid need to get a hold of a parent or send a message; they should be able to do so in the school office. Kids now a days need to socialize face to face. Their mental and social skills will improve and memories will be made.
