@justagram: @Skits & Giggles 🇨🇦 Instead of spending $3.2B to bail out Vancouver Condo Developers, Mark Carney should've helped Canadian Homeowners first. #canada_life🇨🇦 #Canadian #homeowners #taxes
but he’s a banker , he knows better how to help only the rich , it would have been better to give it to first time buyers but be it the ones who have 5 generations of ansesters who have been paying and building canadas economy

why should my tax dollars help someone buy a house?

I’m almost certain that Brookfield will profit from this in one way or another.

This is a brilliant economic idea no matter how you try to spin it.

the Cons are really misinforming us on that topic. Since what Carney wants to do is subsidize 10% on discount price condos for people to rent to buy.

why do people refuse to fact check!! first it's 1.6 from the feds and 1.6 from BC. Secondly this money is over the next 10 years, thirdly most of it is going towards reducing development fees for ALL af British Columbia, and fourth, they haven't bought any condos yet, we have to wait and see their plan. if it makes more financial sense to buy distressed condos than build new then it makes perfect sense! also housing was part of Carney's platform!

There is nothing wrong with the government buying new condos for less than the cost of building and helping Canadians enter the housing market through rent to own. If you are against the government helping people who are struggling to obtain affordable housing just say that.

theyre being bought by the government to make affordable housing and rent to own agreements. so all in all the government benefits the people benefit. and the company walks aways while breaking even. not making huge profits.

You know it’s a provincial federal partnership right? This isn’t Marc Carney. And it’s actually a great idea if you know anything about real estate.

And once again - not what happened- you are mixing up two separate things! The government bought condos and provided funding for homes!

The $3.2B is split between BC and federal government to lower developmental fees. The condo purchase is a seperate measure.
