Research PMDD. Night sweats are common with hormone shifts throughout the month.

It’s very difficult to assess perimenopause based on hormonal bloodwork (ie testing estrogen) because estrogen level fluctuates so much. You might consider getting your AMH level assessed to check ovarian reserve - see a reproductive endo. I loved my dr in NJ but I’m sure there are great ones in the city.

Dr. Tsai at NYU is great. If you haven't already, see if you can do an MRI with & without IV contrast. They're able to see evidence of endometriosis this way.

Do we need mirrors, really though? I never use them. And if it’s a powder, the product gets on the mirror and makes it unusable anyway. The MbM master mattes has a great mirror but it’s always filthy for me. These are all of my very serious thoughts about an unserious topic. Love all your vids and chats though!

Best steps from a girl who just went thru this process 1) make an appt with an endometriosis excision specialist (they’re waitlists can run long) and request an specialty US from them and a pelvic MRI 2) in the meantime, you could go to a fertility clinic and request the Receptiva endometrial biopsy, this step is a low hanging fruit and if it comes back positive, it’ll give you some assurance about continuing with the endo specialist

One specialist doesn’t listen, go to another. They don’t listen, go to another and keep going until you find someone who cares! ❤️

Endometriosis is driven by hormonal imbalance. So is night sweats. So yes it can be related. I had to go find a reproductive endocrinologist to finally be taken seriously. It took me so many years. Now I'm on a hormone regiment which has helped a lot.

Not New York but…Dr. Hugh Taylor at Yale is amazing. I just had surgery with him. He had me try medicine first, which helped a lot. (I just had very stubborn endo that still needed surgery) He gave me many options and talked through everything. He is an amazing listener with great bedside manner for a surgeon.

Suffering every month is not normal. In my case, perimenopause started very early and HRT saved my life. A functional nurse practitioner was the first medical professional to take me seriously. She is located in Austin but does telemedicine. Happy to share her info if you’re interested.
