"HE HAS MY BABY AND HE HAS A GUN!" In this newly-released video, a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania mother is seen living a worst nightmare when a man with a gun broke into her home and held her toddler hostage during a standoff. In May 2023, Harrisburg officers noticed Antonio Hammond wearing a mask and concealing a handgun in his pants. When officers approached Hammond, he fled, pointed his gun at officers who were chasing him, and pulled the trigger. During the chase, Hammond entered the home of a woman who was there with two of her kids. Hammond didn’t know the family, and directed the woman to use his mobile phone to film him as he held her 2-year-old daughter without her consent. The woman begged for her baby back, but Hammond assured her that he wouldn’t harm her, nor would the police. Hammond held the toddler hostage for five hours before the Crisis Response Team entered the home and fired a shot at Hammond while he was holding the toddler, striking him in the face. The 2-year-old was then safely removed from the home, and emergency officials rendered aid to Hammond inside, saving his life. On June 23, 2026, Hammond was acquitted of aggravated assault in the case, but was convicted of kidnapping of a 2-year-old child, burglary while a resident is present, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, carrying a firearm without a license, receiving stolen property, flight to avoid apprehension, and possession of a firearm by a wanted fugitive. He also had a prior conviction for aggravated assault, making the kidnapping a second-strike offense, which carries a minimum sentence of between 10 and 20 years.
