@theweepingdev: It just costs you your time, sanity and social life! Jokes aside, you don’t need a super computer or thousands of dollars in software. And most importantly, you don’t need to know coding beforehand! It’s a learnable skill!! That probably sounds obvious to tech people but as an artist, it always seemed like an impossible thing to learn for someone like me and that fear put me off from starting a game project for like 10 years, no joke. There’s so many incredible resources for free online, especially on Youtube so check out those channels I highlighted to get started. It took me a week to make my character walk in eight directions lol but now (a year since starting to learn) I can actually write my own code and create systems for my game. Still feels insane to me. Disclaimer: I also use Photoshop for painting but I have that due to my day job in animation. Krita can still get the job done or a better and cheap alternative is Clip Studio Paint. #gamedev #indiegames #godotengine #blender3d
