DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT SPOILERS ‼️This is actually Season 9, Episode 18 called "New Guard," and it is the exact episode where Torres gets introduced to the team.Basically, Halstead is tasked with training this new recruit, but Torres is super quiet and keeps doing his own thing instead of following orders. Because his past records are sealed and he clearly knows the streets way too well, the unit starts suspecting that he might actually be a gang mole trying to infiltrate the police department.The turning point is when they put him in a setup to test him, and he ends up shooting a gang member to save a life, proving he is legit. When Voight and Halstead finally confront him about his past, he reveals that he went to juvenile detention because he beat up his stepfather to stop him from abusing his mother. He explains that he called the cops for help multiple times as a kid and nobody ever showed up, which is the exact reason he decided to become a cop himself.Definitely watch the full episode if you like this clip because his character arc gets even cody later on.
