Day 2 of forcing myself to do my nighttime skincare routine even though I absolutely did not feel like it. Adult acne, hyperpigmentation, discoloration around my mouth, sensitive skin, ADHD executive dysfunction… we’re fighting for our lives over here. My derm-prescribed routine right now: 0.025% tretinoin before bed, 15% azelaic acid spaced out twice a day, 4% hydroquinone bleaching cream twice a day with the azelaic acid, Vanicream unscented moisturizing lotion for sensitive skin, La Roche-Posay SPF 60 or Blue Lizard Sensitive SPF 50 during the day, and CeraVe Acne Foaming Cream Wash with 10% benzoyl peroxide. I’m trying to go slow and steady with actives instead of destroying my skin barrier for fast results. Acne scars and dark spots did not appear overnight, so I’m trying to be patient even though I’m annoyed.
