The only time my mom ever played with me, was when she wanted to play chess, and she bragged about how much better she was than me, and how since chess is a strategy game and I couldn’t beat her, I was stupid. I was 6.

I have a question, im not a parent yey but ive been raised w similar ones tht had very little patience w me. Currently i got a sister that is 7 years old and wants to play w us, however i find no interest in doing so bc im old(were 17yo apart) and i sometimes get irritated in the same way my parents would get. Most of the time i keep it to myself but manage to get out of the playdate. How do i break this cycle... or irritation. Something in my sister definitely triggers mebut i cannot pin point what
