how bout you talk to someone who did live under the USSR but just not in Russia. ofc life in Russia was good during the USSR because Russia was being kept rich by exploiting other smaller countries that were a part of the USSR.

USSR drew very crappy borders of all countries inside itself and in eastern block which resulted in todays massive naitonalism and tensions around borders it also deported millions to ethnically make borders allignneith what they drew, to prevent nationalism which after it's collapse failed
