Although Clark was a bad person, what made him a flawed person is what made him relatable to so many people. When the burden of the real world comes to push and shove Clark finds solace within an entirely different dimension that makes no sense. And the fact that it doesn’t make sense makes it so comforting to Clark. When faced with the decision of returning to his former life or staying in a place entirely abnormal. He chooses to stay in a place that doesn’t change, a place where he doesn’t need to change. Sometimes some people feel to distant from a world that’s ever changing when they themselves can not or wish not to. And I think that’s the beauty of Clark and how well he displays a piece of mental health that is not talked about oftenx

In my eyes this was a bit of a happy ending yet gruesome at the same time- just being in the backrooms was a bit of a safe space for him since he finally got a break/ a chance to find a sense of belonging. *My perception of it*

I think Clark also represents the people who find comfort in liminal space and find themselves wanting to go back to the place they are provoked to go to

I know clark was a terrible person but i still feel empathy for him. He really tried to become a better person just for the backrooms to “accept him as he is” so he felt superior. Im glad he realised how terrible it must be for mary and tried to let her go

Clark’s actor unironically deserves an Oscar bro the dinner scene is literally like one of the greatest movie scenes I’ve ever watched with my own two eyes

He described the initial feeling we all experienced when encountering the concept of the Backrooms, that warm sense of nostalgia. Like a childhood memory, a place where one can escape reality

Creating a film based on internet lore about abandoned liminal spaces found in cracks reality, and then managing to turn it into a metaphor for loneliness, self fulfilment and self worth is truly incredible

Empathized with him so hard, he’s not a bad person but just a perfect representation of where wallowing in your own bad thoughts and habits will get you

I get why people focus so much on the dog line, but 'I didn't say lonely, I said alone' feels just as impactful and important to me
