I didn't have a name for the triangulation thing until now, thank you! My parents and siblings made me feel like the outsider for as long as I can remember, and I've actually caught them (and some of my siblings' spouses) talking horribly about me like it was some kind of group bonding activity, which I guess it was.

my mom has 2 advanced degrees. It took me soooooo long to realize how emotionally immature she is. Then it took even longer to realize and accept that she has no interest in being more emotionally intelligent, I gave up. I won't be in yet another relationship where I'm the only one doing the hard work.
