I see the confusion here. The video incorrectly assumes that a "sidereal day" (i.e. time to rotate exactly 360° relative to space) is 24 hours long. A "solar day" (time to spin about 361° for a point on Earth to face the Sun again) is 24 hours long. A sidereal day lasts about 23 hours and 56 minutes. Since time immemorial, we have always measured common days as solar days (in relation to the Sun). IF a sidereal day was somehow 24 hours long, we would indeed have the time shift described in this video. Google is free, folks.

This is completely absurd. Pick a point on Earth and it will be facing the sun every 24 hours, no matter where it is in its orbit. Thats it. Don’t believe me? Pretend you’re the sun. Get an orange and draw a dot on one side. Hold it in front of you. Have the dot face you, then say “day”. Then turn the dot away from you and say “night”. Keep doing this while spinning yourself 360 degrees. Did the dot magically flip at any point in your rotation?
