HOW TO CLEAN AND LUBE YOUR CHAIN🏍️⛓️💦 This is very important maintenance you MUST be doing every 300-500 miles (or sooner if you’ve been riding in the rain). What you need: • A rear stand (optional but very helpful) • Cardboard • Chain cleaner • Chain lube i use @motulusa for both lube and cleaner, but use whatever you prefer! 🙌🏻HERE’S HOW WE DO IT: Step 1: spray your chain cleaner onto the inside and outside of the chain while spinning the wheel. try not to get chain cleaner on the wheel/tire. this is a degreaser - we don’t want you losing traction with slippery tires. Step 2: let it sit for 1-3 minutes. this lets the built up dirt and old lube get loose and drip off. the dirtier the chain, the messier your mess lol. Step 3: scrub the entire chain with your brush - get all four sides really good. Step 4: wait till the chain is dry. go over it with a microfiber towel to ensure it’s completely dry & let it sit for a few more moments to let any remaining cleaner evaporate. Step 5: lube the inside of the chain while slowly spinning the wheel. you do not want too much, as this will just collect extra dirt and sling it all over your bike. every ring should get some, but don’t soak it. Step 6: give the wheel a few spinny spins to get the lube into the moving parts of the chain. we wanna distribute it evenly & ensure we didn’t miss any spots. Step 7: check your chain slack & look for any signs of damage! hopefully this helps🫶🏻🎀 — #kawasakininja #bikergirl #girlswhoride #bikelife #motorcyclemaintenance
