how does Dragula make queer people look like villains?? I have watched every season and I genuinely don't get what she means. because the show has gone out of its way to give room to trans drag artists, afab drag artists, drag artists from different countries and ethnicities, drag artists who have been able to openly talk about things like pushing through depression, recovery, anxiety, transition, etc. dragula is very, very focused on drag artists who are processing and exploring feelings through their drag art, who are using their drag to explore themselves, and who are using their drag to make political statements. as an alt person, it's a great thing to see a platform for drag other than the styles reserved for drag race. and dragula becoming bigger has enabled more up and coming drag artists embrace alt drag styles, which has ultimately enabled more people to do drag who may have thought they "couldn't" because they didnt fit the mold of drag race. it has brought a lot of deeper cuts from drag and queer history to the forefront. dragula has been extremely important, really, and villainizing the show by saying it somehow contributes to queer people being villainized is messed up. and yeah, not punk. far more not punk than she thinks dragula is being.
