Ziwen Xu is building his own open-world GTA clone — solo — and racing to ship it before GTA 6 lands on November 19. His weapon? A loop of AI agents running on Claude. He upgraded to Claude Max 20x and started “vibe coding” the whole thing. Day 1 was a pill-shaped character hopping around an empty map. By Day 4 he had character models, every NPC modeled, cars, traffic, traffic rules, and actual driving. The chaos is real too. An agent spun up downtown LA skyscrapers in a game that’s supposed to be set in Florida. He torched 75% of his weekly usage limit in a single 24 hours. The whole repo is public on GitHub for anyone who wants to model, code, or build levels alongside him. For scale: GTA 6 took Rockstar ~a decade and roughly $3 billion, fully handcrafted with zero generative AI. GT-Caliber has been alive since June 10 and runs on credit costs alone.
