Why is Ghana Black Stars always being intimidated, humiliated and denied justice in World Cup tournaments. In 2010, Ghana was to qualify to the semifinals of the World Cup in South Africa but the devilish Suarez of the Uruguay team used his hands to scoop the ball out of the net, denying Ghana a sweet victory. Suarez’s only punishment was a penalty which Asamoah Gyan of Ghana nervously wasted it. It was that incident which made FIFA to come out with this VAR system to solve these kind of situations. Now in this new era, it’s the same Ghana that has been denied another victory because the VAR was wasn’t used to determine who was at fault. According to Ghana’s coach “ VAR went to coffee time “. It’s a shame that FIFA is becoming biased to especially African teams failing to see African teams advancing or winning the World Cup ultimately. If the Ghanaian player who was whacked in the box were to be a westerner or either Messi or Ronaldo all the rules would’ve been applied instantly- a penalty and a red card. Why should it be so. If FIFA wants African teams to leave the world’s tournaments why don’t they say it in plane words and Africa will bow out peacefully. It’s a shame on the part of FIFA. We’re all consciously and wide awake waiting for the outcome of this very incidence to determine FIFA’s stance.
