@taxunwrapped: Concerned about losing your family home to Fair Deal? A properly drafted right of residence can remove the value of your interest from the Fair Deal financial assessment - but the wording of the legal document is critical. Get it wrong and the retained interest may still be assessed. This strategy can also create immediate Capital Acquisitions Tax and stamp duty consequences for your child, so it should never be implemented without specialist advice. Visit the link in my bio or go to taxunwrapped.ie And don't forget, we advise and implement.
Can you transfer into 3 children’s names ? Or must it be single child

Often when people go into a nursing home it is uncertain that they will survive the 3 years so that may make any calculations uncertain

You better make sure your right of residence is exclusive to you or your kid can move anyone in. Including renting out a room to a stranger. If you transfer your house it’s theirs now
