@jonrussellmd: While it’s great to make healthy changes, we have to remember that most disease isn’t caused by bad choices, and many people can’t reverse disease without medical help no matter how hard they try. #creatorsearchinsights #hashimotos #gravesdisease #thyroidproblems #thyroid

There is always a trigger to Hashimotos. Your body doesn’t just attack healthy thyroid tissue for no reason.

This is me. I’ve lowered my antibodies from over 700 to about 170, but no matter what I do my antibodies won’t go lower. I’d love to go into remission but wonder if it will ever happen. 😔

My graves directly stemmed from doing a ct scan with contrast.

I did it, but it took me 16 years to finally commit to it and the damage in that time was so bad. So I don’t recommend lol

Can you still have hashimotos if you had a partial thyroidectomy?

Could you do a post on causes or details on how or why thyroid nodules can become larger and then later shrink? What caused this? Is it an inflammatory concern? I’m wanting to learn more information on this topic.

Thank you so much for this—I really needed to see it. Sometimes it feels like there’s an unspoken message that if you just try hard enough or do everything “right,” you should be able to fix your Hashimoto’s. It was incredibly reassuring to hear someone acknowledge how much genetics can play a role. Your post was such a relief to read. Thank you

People would berate me for not starting different diets when I had graves. What they didn’t understand was my dad and cousin both have graves, huge genetic factors there. I eat a clean, whole foods healthy diet, drink lots of water, and exercise. You cannot eat your way out of this for a lot of us

I was one of those with tears in my eyes. I had a kind doc say, “You’re acting like this is some moral failure on your part. It’s not.” That was life changing for me. Lifestyle and diet helps, but I’ll have flares. I don’t beat myself up over it anymore- I give my myself some extra love and care.

If you find the root cause then surely it’s possible to reverse it? Otherwise it’s a soul destroying battle to feel at best half the person you once were.

My doctor says I have Hashimoto’s but I don’t have any antibodies. I have hypothyroidism. Diagnosed in December. My levels are in range now, but I’m confused on how I have Hashimoto’s if I never had any antibodies.

ive made huge changes gluten free, dairy free, that alone made my digestive system better thus having enough energy to exercise, was doing awesome for at least two months, I thought I was on remission, than got a slight, cold, which triggered a huge flare-up. 🥺🥺.

This is so hard being an autoimmune we are all so different and unique. But I know for myself I do and feel way better on no gluten and low dairy no processed no alcohol. I learned this by going away and having all that I feel terrible. Back to it tomorrow oh and my red light missed it.
