The public reaction to what the commissioner have said ,has convinced me that cases of defilement are unlikely to decrease if we rely sorely on the Government and the Police to solve the problem through laws & Polices. Protecting minors requires strong Parental guidance, Community involvement as well as personal responsibility. What measures do parents or guardians take to protect minors and what role does the community play in safeguarding them? Are minors being properly educated about issues such as defilement? Furthermore do parents engage in open and sometimes uncomfortable conversations with their children about safety, relationships, and boundaries?
