@__meganf: It’s officially one year of becoming a stay at home parent and I have some thoughts. I felt weird even acknowledging this but I realised in my career I would have marked milestones like this so I think it’s important to reflect and also congratulate myself of a whole year in this new role I’ve simply never been so tired in my whole life, but also so fulfilled at the same time. Like I say in the video, if you’d known me when I was 17-19, I very wrongly would have looked down on woman who chose to do this. I never wanted kids for a big load of reasons, and a lot of those reasons came from my internalised thoughts of what it meant to be a mum. But now I am one, I feel so at peace in this role. For the first time in my life, I don’t feel like I’m playing who I should be, but I just feel like me. I’m also very aware of how privileged I am to be in this position, and don’t take that for granted.
