Nails like 1/4” in are sketchy. I’d be min 3/4 and prefer 1”

I find it easier to nail the seam side first, work your reveal all the way down, then nail off the other side. The board moves easier in my opinion

I'm sure it will be fine for sometime but should only nail one side of the board so it can shrink and stretch. when applying batton shoot a nail dead center in between gap.

Do you use regular nails? Siding nails (even though the wood is thicker)? Shank nails? I know you’re only going into the zip sheathing, not necessarily hitting studs, so I’m curious.
