I get the whole “temporary is temporary” argument, I really do. But can y’all honestly imagine your family just being ripped apart? Like… what are those kids supposed to do? And to the people saying, “They should’ve gotten their papers straightened out,” do you actually know what that process looks like? It can take years, cost thousands of dollars, and people still get denied. Then what? I don’t care what side you’re on, but what happened to empathy? Somewhere along the way it feels like we’ve forgotten these are actual people. Real moms. Real dads. Real kids. It’s just incredibly sad to me how quick people are to dismiss someone else’s pain until it isn’t someone they love.

For everyone saying T for temporary, can you imagine how many people have applied for the green cards through TPS and have gotten denied? Or how expensive the process is and cannot afford to do everything all at once. Can you fathom how long it takes for the forms to be filled and sent and having to wait to hear back?
