You didn’t overreact. You did exactly the right thing. 40 years ago, a cop stopped me while I was running and said “ I noticed you run the same route every day. If I noticed, so do others. Make sure you mix up where you go everyday ”. That advice has stuck with me my whole life.

When I lived in Salt Lake City, I had a man get out of his car and ask me if I wanted a ride. When I said no and went to put my headphones back in, he grabbed my backpack. And in the struggle I fell in the middle of the street. With the camera pointing at me! I could see the camera on the building. And at the stop light was the bus. So the bus pulled up, as I'm fighting to get up and trying to run away from this guy. He decided to turn around and runs because people were getting out of their cars to help me. He ran to his car. I call the police. The police come Take a report. I end up doing an interview with the news. Because there was a local girl missing. She went missing that same day A couple hours after that happened to me. I INSTANTLY felt sick. Reached out to the family just to tell them my story & the PI they hired. So the news interviewed me because it was being investigated as possibly related to the other missing girl.😭And because I mentioned that I think police are trying to cover up the fact that we have a major trafficking issue in Salt Lake City. The locals know. We all talk about it. But Utah police are controlled by the church there. They never aired my interview.😭 The police claimed none of the cameras were working. Even the one on the bus. I cried and cried. I still don't leave the house often. oh and the worse part she liked less than a mile from me and it was the same car. The police ruled her unaliving a accidental death. Im so happy you are okay!! We shouldn't have to live like this! Im really sorry this happened to you!!! . . . . 💔 RIP Kayelyn Louder

As a 911 dispatcher, you did the right thing and it’s normal if we don’t look concerned. 🙂 We aren’t phased by much, because we hear so many horrible stories during our careers, but that doesn’t mean that your call is not taken seriously or that you were wrong to call, it’s just part of the job to stay calm.
