@getgymnastfit: Save this workout and try it later. The shoulder is one of the most mobile joints in the human body, but that mobility comes at the cost of stability. Efficient overhead movement depends on the coordinated function of the shoulder blades, rotator cuff, upper back, and surrounding musculature rather than flexibility alone. When these structures fail to work together, other tissues often compensate, increasing mechanical stress on the shoulder complex. This Russian Gymnastics Training protocol is designed to improve shoulder mechanics by developing scapular control, serratus anterior activation, rotator cuff function, overhead mobility, and strength throughout the full range of motion. The goal is not simply to increase flexibility, but to build a stronger and more stable foundation for efficient movement. Whether you train gymnastics, calisthenics, strength sports, climbing, or simply want healthier shoulders and better posture, this routine can be incorporated into your regular training. Perform the exercises in the order they are numbered. Each drill prepares the body for the next stage of the protocol. EddyTeller :
this is more my speed these days. I get made fun of, but my back just doesn't have it anymore. I have to do isometrics and light. some of these exercises look somewhat low impact. I think. I'll try a few out. I especially like the ones laying on the stomach with the arms stretched out.
