I'm a PhD student, I share an office with like 6 other master's/PhD students in my department, with another 4 students in an attached room. I'm in the nicest of our 3 grad student offices (assigned by seniority), but all of them are bright and spacious, and I get along well with the other students, so it works great for me! I do spend the majority of my time in a windowless lab though, which isn't quite as great.

I shared my office with another PhD student. She was never there so it basically felt like my own office. The few times she was there was really cool! I would get a little lonely in my office lol.

Sadly at my R1 one of the big decisions they made when we got our new building was to give all PhD Student floating desks of no ownership. It has not been received with a lot of love.

I have an office but each office is shared with 4-8 other people, and since it's for music, we can't be in the office at the same time. scheduling is the worst 😅

At my university the TAs get an office. Some people get their own desk while others just a room with some tables. There’s like 20 of us sharing one room. Some lab spaces have desks but our old space didn’t. We would just sit in the corner of a hallway with our drinks and snacks as our break room. I have a desk now but we found out that it’s not a safe space so we can’t drink there or anything
