@w2sixpackchef: I’m on a mission to buy my first Chinese Cleavers Part 1 As a Chinese Canadian I’ve grown up in a Chinese household so there was always only one kind of knife: a Chinese cleaver! It was only when I started cooking or watching cooking shows that I saw there were other knives & that most people never used cleavers. Even in my career, I never ended up using cleavers because it just wasn’t the norm. Fast forward to me now, I love all kinds of knives & have really wanted to learn more/collect them…especially since being given the title as the “Knife guy” So I went on a journey across the world to find & buy my first Chinese cleavers & there’s no better place than Hong Kong! Of course I need to get there so shoutout @Cathay Pacific ✈️ for supporting me on this journey. They flew me to Hong Kong (for my first time as an adult) in their Business Class & really set the tone for my trip. From the spacious cabin to the Bamford partnered vanity kits, I was most blown away though by their food & hospitality! Cathay’s menu is all about showcasing Chinese/Cantonese cuisine & the food felt like a restaurant in the sky. The team was beyond friendly & took care of me like it was a Michelin restaurant.
