Guessing 25 cents. The company that created the UPC barcode (universal product code) was GS1 US (originally, Uniform Code Council) and they are still located in Dayton, Ohio.

I worked at a grocery 2 towns over during high school and had to ring each item n by hand still in the mid 90s.. we didn’t get the scanners until the late 90s in which I had to travel to Dayton with my boss for a week to learn the new system… crazy how much changes
