@expedition.ola: When we found Emmy wandering the streets of Baja, we knew her healing journey was not going to be easy💔 What we didn’t know was just how incredible her transformation would be! This is part 1 of 3. Before the specialists. Before the difficult decisions. Before the surgery that would change her life forever🥲 Before all of that, Emmy needed something much simpler. Relief. Rest. A full belly. And a chance to get to know us and finally feel safe. One thing we’ve learned rescuing dogs in Baja is that there isn’t always an immediate solution. Every decision depends on where we are, what veterinary resources are available, and most importantly, what is actually best for the dog! Sometimes the right decision isn’t the fastest one. And sometimes, a day at the beach can be more healing than a day at the vet for a dog that has never known joy! We truly believe healing the soul is the first step to healing everything else🌊🌞 It also gave us the time to start coming up with a thoughtful plan for Emmy’s future. The groomer reveal at the end still blows our minds🤯 We loved her wooly mammoth look but I’m sure that haircut made her feel better than she had in a really long time! Part 2 coming tomorrow💗🐾
