Seb, can't you fit the 2010 face-lift headlights that have the proper white halo lights? I know you tried the aftermarket which didn't quite work but the face lift still is in keeping with the e92

I don’t like them, I’ve had all the colours of DRLs on mine and I’ve gone back to the extra bright halogen ones

Eh… if you change the colour of them, you need to go for a warmer/dimmer yellow or orange. I believe the standard 3 series e92 uses them, I reckon that would be the only other choice besides white.
