Skinny jeans will be back in style but that doesn’t mean it will be the dominant denim style the same way it was. The denim landscape is much different now and many different cuts are popular at the same time, this could just mean denim cuts become a little slimmer. You don’t have to wear skinny jeans, just like you didn’t have to wear low rise

I’m so confused on skinny jeans coming back because they literally never left. I’d say anyone who isn’t into fashion heavy is definitely wearing skinny jeans. My dad is like 75 and wears skinny jeans. I think the jeans war is just going to be over where what fits ur body

Fashiony people have been wearing wider leg jeans but tbh skinny jeans really didn’t go anywhere- most people actually still wear a slim/skinny fit and this seems more like a tactic of appealing to what people already have, even given that those solid washes are much easier/cheaper to produce than washes with printing or unique colouring. I think this is actually way less tied to the indie sleaze trend than it seems. I think it’s actually a lil bit of a recession indicator and am personally nervous of a return to that kind of body exclusivity and conservative dressing that really mirrored the values at that time

I feel like we have a while. It took about 10 years to transition from baggy to skinny in the late 90s. We spent a long time with like bootcut jeans in the 2000s, which I feel like have only just started being popular. Although trend cycles are faster now. Ugh, I hate how uncomfortable skinny jeans are.
