i remember building a pc a year ago and putting a psu from a family friend's pc in it and come to find out it was made six months after i was born😭 nothing bad happened because i didn't have a dedicated gpu inside yet

also depends on the build tho, if you have a 200-300W build and don't plan on getting anything more in a long time, any 600+W 80 bronze with a decent tier on the list will work

EVGA makes the best bang for buck PSUs. I’ve had mine since 2018, too. Every other power supply I’ve had dies in less than 5 years.
