this is one small thing that bothers me about Rezero, with other isekai like Konosuba or Mushoku Tensei, the trope is that the MC doesn't have a life in the real world at all, no family, no friends, no job, no hobbies besides maybe gaming all day, they don't go to school, they're lonely and they do nothing with their life. So when they get isekai'd they're happy because they get another fresh start to build themselves a real life where they matter. and it makes sense because they don't have anything to be sad about, they're not leaving anything behind.
Subaru in Rezero didn't really have a life before he got isekai'd either but he did have a family, and we get shown that Subaru had a very good relationship with his parents, he loved them and they loved him. But the first time he appears in his new world, he doesn't even think about them, he's just excited about all the cool powers he could potentially have. They don't even get mentioned at all until season 2 when during the trial, Subaru got his chance to talk to them again and get stuff off his chest. But like, if he cares about them then why didn't he care at all for so long before that? I think it would be better if it took Subaru a longer time to adjust to his new environment and to come to terms with the fact that he may never ever see his parents again and he never even got to say goodbye.
