@rosemarys919: Tipping culture in USA is completely out of control, but refusing to tip servers doesn’t punish the system. It punishes the workers who are already underpaid. Yes, restaurants should pay a fair wage. Absolutely. But until that changes, the person losing money is not the owner. It’s the waiter running around serving tourists all day. #usa #worldcup #tipculture #tips #unitedstates
I agree, but also because of this the issue is now on the radar of one of the biggest journalist on US TikTok and he is raising awareness, and this is how hopefully change will start.

I don’t agree with tips but that said I would not go to USA. If I want to tip in Europe I do but its symbolic not a fixed % of the bill as they have that’s just crazy

Exactly, the issue is they have to rely on tips to supplement their earnings. Sometimes it makes the difference between paying rent or not. The thing is that while tipping this culture continues to be enforced, there is no reason for things to change. On a personal level I believe that tipping should be to acknowledge the quality of service and not enforced charity because we feel sorry for the staff.

Would depend if the servers actually receive the tip, also in a different note, I love your glasses ❤️

If tipping isn’t optional it’s not a tip. It’s a subsidy. The employer should pay the wages not the customer. However, I believe that they came up with the radical solution of putting the prices up so they included “tips.” Amazing that no one else had thought of that. 🤣
