it is normal! Don’t fully submerge in water it can cause shock, dip their feet in a bowl of cool water to bring temp down, a hot water bottle frozen in a tea towel, move their water bowls to keep them searching and enticed and replace it every couple hours, also i’ve found putting som liquid treats in the fridge or freezer works to cool them down x

wet the ears and if you have a ice pack you can put it on the belly temporarily as long as it's wrapped in something

a lot of people have been putting a damp tea towel in the freezer then laying it on the floor for their cats to lay on, let it warm a bit after the freezer tho so it isn't so cold it causes shock

Freeze water in the bottom of a bowl then add fresh water on top! Keeps it cool for longer, but isn’t too cold that it shocks them x

My kitren has been doing this , my kitten has breathing problems so that’s why she does it but our vets say that if they are panting in this big heatwave it should be ok because of extreme weathers, just keeep checking in with your vets and find out what’s best for your cat

Cats can die due to heat. Damp a little towel or tissue and wipe him throughout the day. Change his water bowl A LOT (hourly if the heat wave is real bad) and try to keep him in the coldest room.

I’ve been misting my cats down every hour or two. He absolutely hates it but it seems to help.
