What do most people miss about AI and "complex" work? Complexity is not the blocker people think it is. The billing for one of their clients was a tangle of rules, too messy to hand to a generic tool and trust the output. So we did not use a generic tool. We taught AI the exact process, step by step, as a reusable skill. Then we built an invoice follow-up tracker with four stages, from a friendly nudge to a final notice, linked straight to their spreadsheet. Now the process that was "too complicated to do by hand" runs itself. And the follow-ups that used to slip through email do not slip anymore. The lesson: do not save AI for the easy tasks. The complicated, repetitive, error-prone work is exactly where a custom skill pays off most.
