People say time doesn’t change anything. Many believe that change isn’t even possible. That the image you put out there even to someone you love is something they’ll always see. But that’s not true. I’m in the same boat right now. I’ve said and done things I wish I could take back just so we’d be okay again. But the choices we make are ones that form the story. Sometimes the chapter ends well, other times it doesn’t. Always remember though: you’re the one writing. Yes you’ll feel guilty, yes you’ll want to immediately fix what you’ve done. But that’s not the way to rebuild what’s been broken. Give them space, check in as usual, keep the healthy patterns going. Let them heal as they see fit and leave it all in Gods hands. He’ll see it through. Just because we did wrong doesn’t mean we can’t be forgiven. It’ll take time, it’s gonna be hard, but you’ve got this.

What conversation? When you know and realize there is nothing left to say, except I’m sorry. Intent is important, but pain is pain. Nothing worse than realizing you’re cooked by your own actions and trauma, and not being able to change in time to save yourself from that pain. Nothing worse than just for you, but for them.

I miss her. But I know it happened for the best. It’s a difficult thing to sit with. But I once heard, you’re not lonely, you’re just undistracted for the first time. Now you have to face yourself.
