I disagree HEAVILY with the last slide. reviews are probably the backbone of music discourse. I don’t even like Fantano that much, but publications like Still Listening Magazine and Northern Transmissions are great examples of independent critics providing thoughtful and sincere recommendations. They put a level of care into their work that many larger publications often don’t. Either way there is no “right” way of consuming music, but I do feel you are undervaluing a pretty big part of the music industry. 😙

go on Spotify, find an artist you like, scroll down to the very bottom where it shows artists who are similar to the one you chose, and then just keep scrolling until you find another one you like
