I drove to London and back on the M4 last week, the state of the driving was terrible. Not just hogging the middle lane but sitting in the outside lane not overtaking anything!! It’s infuriating.

I undertook well over 200 cars yesterday on the M25. they were all sitting in the far lanes and the left lane was completely empty. nobody understands motorway driving.

This clip is not long enough (thankfully) to tell if this is middle lane hogging. If you are in the middle lane and are continually catching and overtaking cars in the inside lane then that is not lane hogging.

People have no idea how to drive on a motorway because the majority were never taught. When I learnt to drive I wasn’t allowed to. I had to pass my test first and then I could having never driven on one, so I paid for extra lessons to learn

I’m becoming convinced that middle lane hogging is a symptom of radar assisted cruise control-induced apathy of some kind. I cannot think of any reason anyone would stay there, unless the driver is just not paying attention.
