In Portuguese, the letter "X" can have four different sounds: "CH" /ʃ/, "Z" /z/, "KS" /ks/, and "S" /s/; in some cases, it can even be completely silent! (And as a fun fact, we pronounce the "X" in "México" with the "CH" sound.)
