Vet tech here! Do not make a big deal when leaving & arriving home. You’ll need to ignore her, take her outside, and let her settle before greetings. This will help avoid separation anxiety & submissive wetting. 🫶🏼

Mine stopped peeing when greeting when she turned 1. I didn’t change how I greeted her, she just got calmer in general

As a vet nurse and a owner to a “happy sprinkler” I can confirm not all dogs stop. My girl is 4 years old and we have done everything by book to stop this, it just won’t stop. They are just too happy to control it. I don’t look at it negitive, yes they pee all over and roll in it which is a inconvenience to us but it shows their true and undying love for us

I fear she gets this excited because you are accidentally hyping her up. I would suggest trying to not make a big deal out of you coming back home. I know it’s hard but try not giving her attention for the first 10 minutes after getting home

my dog used to do this, unfortunately you have to ignore them completely until they’ve calmed down. it takes a while but it really does work. you walking thru the front door needs to be completely neutral

not trying to give unsolicited advice but the best way to work them out of this is not to over excite them when you get home by touching or talking to them but letting them out to potty first and then being excited ! 💗😩 i promise after building this routine she won’t excited pee anymore

the way you greet her is what's enforcing the excitement pee. do not crouch down, do not use baby voice, do not make it a BIG DEAL. when you greet her, ignore her. let her sniff you, let her get her excitement out, and continue on. you will never escape excitement peeing if you keep reinforcing it
