Kyoshi had a sad back story. Her parents are both pirates, her mom’s an airbender and her dad’s an earthbender. Her mom used that fan as a relic to use to enhance her airbending because airbenders’ airbending weaken if they stray from the ways of being a pacifist.

She became a servant and helped alongside the false avatar but under certain circumstances she was discovered as the true avatar by a hostile spirit named fatherglow worm.

Ok, Kyoshis parents ware criminals, her mother is the one we know most about out of the two of them. She was an airbender who abandoned her belifes to become a criminal, she even had serpents tattoos over her arrows and i think people even called her the serpent lady because of this. They abandoned Kyoshi as a baby and grew up on the streets in severe poverty before becoming a maid for Yun, the guy everyone thought was the avatar before they figured out it was actually Kyoshi
