@engineezy: Building an Infinite Floor for a Real-Life Chrome Dino Game ••• Before the dino can jump over anything, I needed the ground to scroll forever. So I built a 56-segment 3D printed conveyor belt with embedded magnets for the obstacles. The belt runs on an aluminum extrusion spine, but the panels were drooping between the drive wheels, so I added V-wheels to each segment that ride along guide rails and turn it into a smooth, solid playing surface. A NEMA 23 motor drives the belt, and a sliding tensioner keeps everything tight so the panels don’t skip. Now the floor scrolls by satisfyingly smooth. Next step: make the dino jump. ••• #engineering #mechanicaldesign #mechanicalengineer #chromedino
